Growing Runtz Cake: seeds, clones and what is known
No breeder or seed seller we found publishes grow specs for Runtz Cake, and Weedmaps says it is not available as seeds or clones.1 GrowDiaries lists no seed products and no logged harvests for it; its parents flower in about 7–9 weeks (Wedding Cake) and 8–9 weeks (White Runtz), according to Leafly.2,3,4

What the flower is like
AllBud describes dense, popcorn-shaped forest-green buds with amber undertones, thin amber hairs and a coating of tiny amber trichomes.7 Leafly says White Runtz, one parent, is noted for white trichomes that make its buds look white like snow.4 Neither Leafly nor Weedmaps publishes plant height, structure or yield for Runtz Cake itself.1,5
What to watch for
Names and claims. GrowDiaries’ strain page calls Runtz Cake challenging for novice growers and says it needs humidity control and training, though it shows no logged harvests.2 Seeds labelled Runtz × Layer Cake are a different cross: Barney’s Farm’s version, listed on SeedFinder, crosses Runtz with Layer Cake, itself a Wedding Cake, GMO, Triangle Kush and Skunk cross from Swamp Boys Seeds (see genetics).8,9 The two Runtz Cake crosses Leafly lists, Pineapple Runtz Cake and Blackberry Runtz Cake, come from Purple Caper Seeds, which says it deals only with licensed California farms.10,11,12
Seeds and the law in the US
Under the amended federal definition of hemp, viable seeds from cannabis plants above 0.3% total THC, including THCA, are not hemp.13 Congress delayed that exclusion, with most of the new definition, from Nov 12 to Dec 11, 2026; only the exclusion of products with cannabinoids the plant cannot produce naturally starts on Nov 12.14 Home cultivation rules are set by each state. This site does not sell seeds.
