Leafly files it as a hybrid whose effects are more calming than energizing, Weedmaps calls it an indica-dominant hybrid, and AllBud lists an even 50% indica / 50% sativa.1,2,4 Leafly describes its parent Wedding Cake as an indica-hybrid and rates its other parent, White Runtz, mostly calming.5,6

Leafly users list flowery, vanilla and diesel, and Leafly’s description adds floral and pine undertones; on Weedmaps, 42% of flavor reports say woody, 33% sweet and 25% berry, with sweet and sour lemon aromas; AllBud describes a sweet, fruity berry-candy flavor with a lightly sour vanilla-citrus exhale.1,2,4
No. Runtz Cake is Wedding Cake × White Runtz.1 Runtz × Layer Cake, a Barney’s Farm seed strain listed on SeedFinder, crosses Runtz with Layer Cake, which Leafly lists as a Swamp Boys Seeds cross of Wedding Cake, GMO, Triangle Kush and Skunk; the two share Wedding Cake and Runtz-family genetics but are different crosses.9,10

Wedding Cake was #3 in Leafly dispensary orders nationwide in 2025 and Washington’s top seller in August 2026, and Runtz, which Leafly’s list says was crossed to make White Runtz, led Michigan in both; Leafly calls Wedding Cake “the strain that started the cake craze”.12,13,14
